Well, as you say, there is notable lack of iron present in this world. Wood, by contrast, is plentiful. The right type of timber can be surprisingly sturdy if that is what you were concerned about. I would have preferred to use something different than what is currently here but a beggar has not the luxury of choice, as they say.
The engine itself is made of steel - primarily due to the moving parts. Strictly speaking there is no need for it to be steel as it isn't a combustion engine. Very little heat generated in its operation. But I'm sure you would like for it to last more than a moon, aye?
I'm going to try it and keep testing it until we've gotten it right.
I just thought that a wooden frame wouldn't last, like you said. That's why I was asking, in cast you did something to it or found a different type of wood.
